UAA offers many Financial Aid options to help you cover the cost of college. You will find a wealth of useful information about the many scholarships and Financial Aid opportunities.  Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships, financial aid and other resources by the appropriate deadline.

The Jason Wenger Memorial Writing Award:
The Jason Wenger Memorial Writing Award honors one of the most spirited and generous graduate students to enter the MFA program in the Department of Creative Writing & Literary Arts. When Jason died in December 2007, he was a semester away from finishing his thesis, a collection of short stories. His degree was awarded posthumously to his parents. Jason was passionate about writing, known among his colleagues for his rigorous critiques, his intense stories, his supportive nature, and his astounding ability to argue his points into the ground. He was also about two tons of fun, and each year to celebrate his creative talents and generosity of spirit, a student will receive an award in his name. 

UAA April Relyea Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to students who are formally admitted into a degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska Anchorage who have intent to explore human-nature relationships through writing or other creative expression.
