Anne Caston Poetry
Ann Caston

Anne Caston is a poet and former nurse who now teaches and writes. She has two books of poetry, Flying Out With The Wounded (NYU Press) and Judah's Lion (forthcoming) and is working on a book about growing up Southern titled, Deep Dixie.

Jo-Ann Mapson Fiction
Jo-Ann Mapson Jo-Ann Mapson is a fiction writer and author of nine novels, most recently The Bad Girl Creek trilogy and The Owl & Moon Cafe, from Simon & Schuster. Her second novel, Blue Rodeo, was made into a movie for television, starring Kris Kristofferson. She is at work on a new novel and memoir.

Linda McCarriston Poetry
Linda McCarriston Linda McCarriston is a tenured Professor in and co-founder of the Department of Creative Writing and Literary Arts at UAA. Before coming here in 1994, she taught for thirteen years in the original low-residency program in the U.S., the Adult Degree Program of Goddard (and then Vermont) College.

Sherry Simpson Nonfiction
Sherry Simpson Sherry Simpson is the author of two collections of essays, The Way Winter Comes and the The Accidental Explorer: Wayfinding in Alaska. She is working on a book about people and bears for the University Press of Kansas.

Ron Spatz Fiction (Currently serving as Dean of the Honors College)
Ron Spatz Ronald Spatz is Dean of the University Honors College. He is a full professor of Creative Writing and Literary Arts and the founding and executive editor of Alaska Quarterly Review and founding editor and project director of the statewide web site LitSite Alaska. He has an MFA degree in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop.
