Jo-Ann Mapson is a fiction writer and author of nine novels, most recently The Bad Girl Creek trilogy and The Owl & Moon Cafe, from Simon & Schuster. Her second novel, Blue Rodeo, was made into a movie for television, starring Kris Kristofferson. She is at work on a new novel and memoir.

Linda McCarriston is a tenured Professor in and co-founder of the Department of Creative Writing and Literary Arts at UAA. Before coming here in 1994, she taught for thirteen years in the original low-residency program in the U.S., the Adult Degree Program of Goddard (and then Vermont) College.
