A national search is currently underway for the Creative Writing & Literary Arts Program Director. The Director will oversee the new low-residency MFA writing program in poetry, fiction and literary nonfiction, and will reside in Anchorage.
Anne Caston is presently serving as the Interim Director.

Kathleen Tarr was named Program Coordinator for the low residency program in September 2007. The Program Coordinator works closely with the Program Director and the core faculty in helping to design and implement the MFA low residency program in the areas of administration, logistics, communications, and student-faculty relations. A long-time Alaskan, she has over 15 years experience in non-profit management and marketing. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member at UAA in the undergraduate creative writing program. Kathleen received her MFA in creative nonfiction from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005.
